Cake Shack Rules and Regulations
| 1. | This is a sharing show, not a contest. There will be no judging in the Cake Shack. There is no fee to enter a cake or sugar art display in the Cake Shack. |
| 2. | This show is open to all sugar artists who want to share their art with others. |
| 3. | After registration, all entries must be set up for display in the Cake Room on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., or Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., or 9:00 p.m.to 10:00 p.m. No entries will be accepted early. Entries received after 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010 will be considered late. All late entries will be placed on a sharing table and will not be considered for publication in the ICES Newsletters. |
| 4. | All sugar art display numbered stickers will be placed on the right side only, toward the back of the sugar art display piece. The numbered sticker may be placed on the right side of the cake stand, plate, or border of the sugar art display if the base board is covered in sugar medium. The numbered stickers will not be allowed to be placed on the left, front or back sides of the sugar art displays. |
| 5. | Either real cake or dummies may be used. Dummies must be of a design that can be duplicated in real cake. |
| 6. | Electricity will not be provided in the Cake Shack for cake displays. |
| 7. | Photo/Video/CD/DVD Release Forms must accompany all sugar art entries in the Cake Room or entries will not be displayed. Photographs of the displays at the ICES Convention and Show may not be reproduced for anything other than personal use without permission of the entrant. |
| 8. | The Show Committee has the right to remove any entry it considers to be in poor taste. |
| 9. | Neither the Show Committee nor ICES assume responsibility for damage to entries or for personal items of any nature, lost or stolen at the ICES Convention and Show. |
| 10. | All entries must be picked up after the show between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2010. No entries may be picked up prior to this time. Entries left after this time will be disposed of. |
| 11. | Only persons who are setting up sugar art displays will be allowed in the Cake Room during setup times. Those not setting up or assisting in the setup of a sugar art display will be escorted from the room. |
| 12. | Only sugar art displays which are pre-registered and postmarked by July 21, 2010 will be placed by state/area/province/country. Sugar art display registrations received after that date or registered on-site will be placed on a first-come, first-served basis at the Show Committee's discretion. |
| 13. | No advertising of books, business cards, placards, and no additional signage or advertising of any kind will be allowed in the Cake Room, with the exception of the official ICES Photographer . |
To be eligible for the Century Club drawing, entries must be secured on at least a 6" display board. Each eligible entry will receive one chance for the Century Club drawing. A tiered cake will receive one chance for each tier that is on at least a 6" board. Each completed demonstrator's display will be eligible for the Century Club drawing, provided it meets all requirements. Late entries will not be eligible for the Century Club drawing.
