Cake Shack
The Cake Shack plays host to hundreds of shining examples of some of the best cake decorating and sugar art creations.
The Cake Shack will open immediately following the General Membership Meeting on Friday. This typically happens around noon, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Cakes should be in place in the Cake Shack prior to the meeting. The cakes brought for display will be eligible for Century Club prizes each worth more than $250, and also a random drawing grand prize.
The cakes will be displayed by state or country, with a special area reserved for demonstrator’s work. Please read the official show rules for display pieces. Each work will also be photographed by our professional photographers to be used in the ICES newsletter and publications. A DVD/CD featuring the cakes will be available for sale at the convention. Click here for more information regarding photography. Each day special times are set aside for the photographing and videos of the cakes only. These special times are set aside to get the coverage of the event you want, in a less crowded setting. Please consult the show schedule for times.
Make sure you don't miss this great convention event. The Cake Shack will also be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday with the purchase of a $10 ticket. A portion of the proceeds will go to our chosen charity the San Diego Fisher House, a home away from home for military members and their families.
We urge everyone to bring a display for the Cake Shack to share with others. From beginners to the pros, from small displays to large wedding cakes, it benefits everyone to have a great showing. Click here for information on traveling by plane with your display.
